Consent Texts
In Ailem Güvende, your location is shown to your family group only if you give one of the two explicit consents below. Consents are given separately for each family group in the app's "Location sharing" setting and can be withdrawn there at any time. These are the same texts the app shows before you consent. For general information on how your data is processed, see the Privacy Notice.
1. Always show my location
With this consent I give explicit consent, under Turkish Law No. 6698 (KVKK), for the members of the selected family group to see my most recently reported approximate location in the Ailem Güvende app, and its time.
- Data shared: my most recent location added to a status report or sent with a shake report, at roughly 1 km precision, and its time. If no location of mine is known, nothing is shared.
- With whom: only members of this group. My other groups and nobody else can see it.
- Purpose: letting my family know roughly where I am, during a disaster and in normal times.
- Duration: until I withdraw consent. The location record is deleted automatically after 30 days; no location history is kept.
- Withdrawal: I can withdraw at any time in the "Location sharing" setting. Withdrawal takes effect from that moment.
- This consent is not a condition for using the app. All other features work without it.
2. Show my last location if I cannot reply in a disaster
With this consent I give explicit consent, under Turkish Law No. 6698 (KVKK), for the members of the selected family group to see my last approximate location, or my saved home location if there is none, when all of the following are true at the same time:
- an earthquake event is active in the app,
- my last known location is inside the affected area,
- I have not replied to repeated status requests for about 2 hours.
- Data shared: my last approximate location (about 1 km) and its time; otherwise my home location, with its time unknown.
- With whom: only members of this group.
- Purpose: helping my family find me and guide rescue teams in a disaster in which I cannot reply.
- Duration: showing ends automatically when the earthquake event closes (at most 72 hours later). The time of my consent is recorded.
- Log and notice: every member who sees my location this way, and when, is logged; the log is kept for 365 days. When I report my status again, I am told that my location was viewed.
- Withdrawal: I can withdraw at any time in the "Location sharing" setting.
- This consent is not a condition for using the app.
3. Shake detection (notice)
Shake detection is not a consent but a feature you turn on or off. When it is on:
- The phone's motion sensor is monitored only on the device. Raw motion data is never sent anywhere.
- When a strong shake is detected, only the detection time and, if you granted location permission, your location at roughly 1 km are sent to the server.
- These reports are used together with other phones in the same area to detect an earthquake before official data, and are deleted after 7 days.
- The location in the report is also stored as your last location to determine whether you are in an affected area. It is shown to your family only to the extent of your location consents above.
- The feature uses battery and can be turned off at any time.
4. At sign-up
When you sign up, you confirm that you accept the Terms of Use and have read the Privacy Notice. The "Save my home location" option is used only to determine whether you are in an affected area; showing it to your family depends on the consents above.
